I'm in a Holidaze...

Since the moulin rouge (okay, money) is pretty tight around here these days (don't tell anyone, but I actually squeak when I walk now), we are giving handmade gifts for the holidays. A couple of weeks ago, I was in the process of making some top-secret goodies and with the help of my craft-loving kids, we have continued with the projects.

Before I go any further...if you are reading this and your name happens to be Lulu, STOP READING now unless you want to know what you are getting for Christmas. Shoo. Just go on now...aren't the Cowboys playing on tivo???

I decided to make things that were practical (aprons, appliqued towels, coasters, etc) this year because...well, because it's hard to make something impractical with no money. So there you have it. I sewed this up tonight and used one of the flowers I made a couple of weeks ago on the front just for fun. In case you can't tell, (what does that say about my sewing prowess?) it's a grocery bag dispenser. I found the idea on Dioramarama's website.

A little long, you say? Well, this WAS my first one to sew...but it's not as long as it looks. However, this little gal holds a ton Wal*Mart sacks...okay, well, technically, not a ton, but a BUNCH. They were fun to make and super-duper easy. So if you know me, you probably know what you're getting for Christmas. I'll be posting some more of the other things we are making as time permits. So many things to do and so little time to get it done! :)

That is so cute, Karen! My mom is pretty crafty, too, and she made one of those for us a while back. It's not as pretty as yours though. ;)

I think you did GREAT! The ones you buy in the store are only good for those people who never actually BUY anything when they shop! I could fit ONE TRIP in one of those bag holders and it would be full. The long is nice! AND Thanks heap big much for the crazy photoshoot below! I loved EVERY photo!
