Hi there, y'all.

My name is Karen and this is the part where I tell you a little bit about me. For starters, you should know that I believe in self-deprecating humor, always wearing clean underwear, and looking on the bright side. I'm a happily married (seven years!) Christian mom of three and I homeschool. I tend to be somewhat melodramatic and prone to over-exaggeration. Just a little, though. I live in the teensy, tiny state of Texas, but before that I lived in the teensy, tiny state of Alaska and boy do I have some tales to tell you.

The name of my blog is almost always misread, and that's somewhat intentional. It was meant to be read as "simply...a musing blog", but most people read it as "simply amusing" and leave out the blog entirely. Which is really sort of prophetic, don't you think?

I started this blog back in 2006 because I wanted to have some sort of creative outlet. A place to post my day to day musings and scrapbooking pages. The only problem is that I never could find the time to do any scrapbooking pages, so it evolved rather quickly into my daily brain dump. A shelter in the time of homeschooling storm, if you will.



This blog has evolved from its original state -- as I have grown in God's Word, I feel more and more led to share my faith and experiences with others. I want to be transparent here and at the same time hopefully, encourage and inspire other women to follow the Christ of the Bible.

I recently opened up shop on a design blog called Simply Amusing Designs. You should go there sometime if you need a new blog header or design. Or even if you don't. Because then you could recommend me to your friends. And they could recommend me to their friends. And..well, you get the idea.

Oh, and that photo up there? That's me, all painted up and made to look much skinnier than I am in real life. That's the power of the internet, people. Oh, and Photoshop.

So please have a look around my blog. I've labeled posts by category, as well as filed them away by month and year. So feel free to poke around and read whatever interests you. I'll even let you leave comments, because I read every one of them and they make me oh-so-happy.
