Exposed - is there a draft in here?
When I was 14, I kept a diary religiously. Inside it were my hopes and dreams, my fears, my lastest crushes, and long rants about how much injustice I'd suffered at the hands of my 6 older brothers -- it was a veritable plethora of information about me that inevitably found its way into the hands of one of my brothers, who never let me live the contents down. He still jokes about it to this day and I have not trusted him since then.
I never wanted to write in a diary again. I felt so betrayed. And then I met this thing they call blogging. Things that are different are not the same, but it's still a wonderful release for me - almost as therapeutic as that 25 year old diary. I've met new people and made some wonderful new friends. All because of a little Ebay moms group and a friend named Rachel. She started a blog and told us all to go and visit it and the yearning in me to create something again was born.
Wednesday marks the two year anniversary of my blog and I thought that I would open it up to YOU (all three of you who read me regularly) for a Q & A about who else...me! Try to exercise some restraint, because I know this is just so absolutely exciting for you that you'll hardly be able to contain yourself as you hit the "comments" link...
However, I'm continually amazed at how things change so quickly. Two years ago, my husband was in retail management - today we own our own business. Two years ago, I had only one child to homeschool, this fall, there will be three. Two years ago, I had a mother that was still parenting me, these days, I am the one parenting her. I recently re-read my first "100 Things" post and realized that while most of it still applied to our family, everything from our musical tastes to tastes in movies has "grown up".
Where we once watched Veggie Tales, now we watch Superman and anything to do with superheroes. My son is convinced that he has x-ray vision. The frightening thing is that when I asked him what color my bra was, he answered "Red," correctly.
And, there are things you may or may not know about us. There are things you may even wish I'd never told you...but even so, there are a few things that a couple of you might be interested in. Or not?
For instance:
~My husband is a lay-preacher (meaning he's not full-time but he also runs our business)
~We dated for all of 6 weeks before getting married (celebrating 7 years next Sunday)
~I've been married before (gasp! yes I have...hard to admit, but true)
~I wear a size 10 shoe (makes skiing soooo much easier)
~I actually love my mother-in-law and get this - I get along with her. (Hi Linda! - you know you're one of the three, right?)
Well, come to think of it, y'all probably know more than you want to know about me by now. But IF...(and I know it's a big if)...you want to know more...just ask. It's that simple - 'cause that's how I roll.
